Terms and Conditions
Effective June 18, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Paymentsnow service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
1. The service
Paymentsnow prints and mails cheques on your behalf and lets you fund those services from your bank account by pre-authorized debit (PAD) or by Interac e-Transfer, or from a prepaid balance. Paymentsnow is a service provider — it is not a bank and does not take deposits or hold your money on account except as a prepaid balance applied to your orders.
2. Your account
You must be an authorized representative of a Canadian business and provide accurate, current information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and two-factor authentication secure and for all activity under your account and team members.
3. Your responsibilities
- You confirm you are authorized to issue cheques and to debit the bank account you register, and that the funds are available.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of every payee name, amount, cheque number and mailing address you submit or import. We print and mail what you approve.
4. Bank verification & pre-authorized debit
We verify the bank account you register using a micro-deposit. Where you authorize pre-authorized debit, you authorize Paymentsnow to debit that account for your orders and fees in accordance with the PAD agreement you sign and with Payments Canada rules. You may cancel a PAD authorization as set out in that agreement.
5. Fees & funding
Service fees, mailing charges and applicable taxes (e.g. GST/HST) are shown on the platform before you place an order. Pre-authorized debits settle over a few business days, and cheques or credits paid that way are released once funds clear. Interac e-Transfer funding is near-instant and irreversible, so those orders release right away (subject to per-transaction limits set by the Interac network).
6. Returns & reversals
If a pre-authorized debit is returned by your bank (for example, for insufficient funds), the related order is not fulfilled and we will notify you. You remain responsible for amounts owing for services already rendered.
7. Intellectual property
The Paymentsnow platform, and its content and software, are owned by Paymentsnow and may not be copied or reused except to use the service as intended.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided on a commercially reasonable basis. To the extent permitted by law, Paymentsnow is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for a claim is limited to the fees you paid for the affected service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after we post a revised effective date means you accept the changes.
